We all met at the casino buffet for breakfast at 9:00 am.
Around 12:00 Shirley and Bill came by our RV. A few minutes later Suzanne and Roy pulled up in their Jeep. Patti and I got into Roy’s jeep and followed by Shirley and Bill in his pickup.
We headed for Coeur d’Alene City to check it out. It is about 20 miles north of the casino.
I must say I am impressed with Coeur d’Alene. Its a pretty town on the shore of the lake of the same name.
Some of the streets are lined with flowers.
We saw this neat old steam engine at the museum as we drove into town.
Our first stop was at a place called “Java” As you can probably tell by the name, it is a coffee shop.
I tried their “Bowl of Sole” which is coffee, Mexican chocolate, cinnamon and whipped cream. I must say it was quite good. Patti had a peach, apricot, pear smoothie. Not bad!
We had to laugh when we got the check. Take a close look at the tip guide.
After we had terrorized the waitresses at Java for a while, we drove back down the main street for a closer look at the steam engine.
It’s really pretty cool. I love steam engines.
This is a plaque that tells a little about the engines specks.
While I walked around checking the engine out, Patti was experimenting with the macro function on her new Cannon SX170 camera.
After checking the steam engine out we drove back along the main street. We stopped at a place called the Pita (some thing). I didn’t pay much attention to the name. We needed to use the restrooms.
We bought some drinks and after the potty break
Roy and I sat at a seat in front of the place while the ladies went window shopping.
There are several sculptures along the street. Here are a few of them.
Bullwinkle?
The buffalo bull you say.
A lady loving a rock?
Some really cool looking metal feathers.
We planned to meet up with Shirley, Bill, Dona and Greg at the Texas Roadhouse for an early dinner.
Roy had to go to an RV supply store for some parts. and we had time to kill so off we went to find the RV store.
Here is something you don’t see in every city.
We managed to find the RV store. Roy got the parts he needed and we headed for the Texas Roadhouse by 4:00. Shirley, Bill, Donna and Greg were waiting for us when we arrived.
The ribs are great and we were stuffed by the time we left.
Back at the casino, Patti and I (actually I) played off our $35.00 of free play that we got for using their RV parking. The deal is you pay $20.00 to use the RV parking spot and the casino gives you $15.00 free play. I am not sure but I think that is a good deal?
Anyway, I played for a couple hours on the free play plus $20.00 cash that Patti gave me. Of course I eventually lost it all.
Well that was our day in Coeur d’Alene. It was very cool.
