When I looked at the thermometer this morning at 7:30 it was 28 degrees.
Today we took a ride with six other jeeps. We met at the fire station north of town at 10:00. From there we drove to the town of Bouse, about thirty miles north. From there we headed into the Bouse hills just to the northeast of the town.
It wasn’t a really challenging trail but it was scenic. We stopped at a spot that is known as the Bouse Grand Canyon.
It is the remains of a gravel quarry.
From there we wandered around the desert for a while.
We stopped for lunch in a wash, out of the wind.
After lunch we wandered around some more, checking out several trails.
It hasn’t rained in a few days so the trails are getting dusty.
There weren’t any really challenging spots so I didn’t get a chance to really test out the articulation of the front end without the sway bar. I did notice that the ride is a bit smoother. The jeep seemed to handle just fine on the highway so I will probably leave the sway bar off.
