Thursday;
We drove to Parker to do some shopping at Walmart.
We stopped at the post office and mailed off the application for my CCW permit.
After shopping, we went to the CrossRoads Café for a late lunch.
Around 6:00 we went to Cheryl and Dennis’s to play cards and got home around 9:30.
Friday;
Around 11:30 we drove over to where Suzanne, Roy, Sue and Denis are camped to see if they wanted to take a ride on Saturday. While we were there they invited us to come out in the evening for a weenie roast.
That sounded like fun so we went to the store to get some polish sausages and buns.
Around 4:00 we went back the the camp spot and were surprised at how many people were there.
Suzanne and Roy had a humming bird feeder hanging off the back of their RV and it was pretty popular with the birds and the photographers.
Patti got a couple good pictures of the birds.
Here is one of them.
Later in the day several Ultra light aircraft flew by.
One of them put on a little show by apparently injecting oil into his exhaust system leaving a trail of smoke in his wake.
Of course we thought that the craft was having problems but after a short time the smoke stopped and he flew by us apparently okay.
They all landed safely about a half mile away near some RV’s parked on the Plomosa flats.
We were treated to another nice sunset as there is some weather coming in with some clouds to reflect the colors.
Before dark we started burning dogs over the fire.
There was lots of other food to go around so everyone got down to the serious business of eating.
Unfortunately I ate way to much and after two polish dogs, potato salad and a couple of awesome desserts I was very uncomfortable.
We left the party around 7:30.
Saturday;
It was raining a little this morning so Susanne, Roy, Sue and Denis decided that they didn’t want to go for a ride.
With nothing else to do I built a stew in the crockpot for tonight's dinner.
This time I put in some fried bacon an Italian sausage and some cut up beef tri tip along with onions, garlic, a Poblano chili and a little basil and oregano, salt and pepper.
I made a rue with the drippings from the meat, some olive oil and flower. For the liquid I used a can of beef broth some balsamic vinegar, red wine, Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce, a can of V8 and a little water. Then added it all to the crockpot.
Later I will add potatoes, carrots and some cabbage.
It really smells good in here right now. I can only hope the stew tastes as good as it smells.
I’ll let you know how it works out next time.
I see some dangerous BBQ brushes hanging on a
ReplyDeleteBBQ. One of them looks just like the one that got me.
