We left Bakersfield around 8:30 yesterday morning.
The ride to Pahrump was about seven hours long and uneventful.
We got on Highway 85 through Bakersfield and when we got to Barstow we got on I-15
We got off I-15 at the town of Baker where we got onto Highway 127 . When we turned onto the highway, there was some construction so we had to wait for the flag man to let us go. While we were there we noticed a big truck that was hauling a large tank.
I bet the guy right behind the tank feels a bit intimidated.
We followed this hwy to the town Shoshone where we picked up Highway 178.
We crossed long stretches of open desert
and through interesting looking rocky hills.
We arrived at the Wine Ridge RV resort in Pahrump around 4:00. It is a very nice park and is reasonably priced. We got a spot for 5 days; with our passport America card it only cost us $110.00.
We are parked right next to Suzanne and Roy. Sue and Denis are close by. It is really great to see them all again and I’m looking forward to Jeeping with them.
We all went to dinner at a Chinese buffet in Pahrump. The food was actually not bad.
Okay, we are going on a jeep ride today. I’ll let you know how that works out in tomorrows post.
