Yesterday was cold and partly cloudy.
Around 12:30 we decided to get out of the RV and take a ride in the desert. We didn’t have any destination in mind so we went south on 95 and turned east into the south Laposa BLM camping area. We drove through the camp area and headed south on a small trail. The trail went around a small mountain and veered east. Along the way we took some pictures of the mountains with some nice Lenticular clouds hanging over them.
These clouds eventually dropped snow over the Flagstaff area in the evening.
We wandered around the desert for about three hours.
Patti took some pictures of cactus.
Things are starting to turn green like this young Ocotillo.
We passed a few mine shafts and tunnels.
None of which was very deep.
We saw our first cactus blossoms of the year.
Below is a picture of a Pincushion cactus. The little red spots on the right side are its blooms just beginning to show.
Today we are going for a ride with Dennis (white jeep) and a few others to an area north of Parker.
