Friday.
We got to Sparks, Nevada around 1:00 and checked into our room at The Nugget Hotel Casino.
The room was nice, with one King sized bed. Unfortunately the bed wasn’t very comfortable.
Patti went in search of a blackjack game and I took a nap. She came back to the room about 2:30, $75 dollars poorer.
We called John and he said that he would pick us up at the hotel in about an hour.
We met John at one of the street entrances to the hotel and he took us to his place. We hung around there until Cindy got home from work. After visiting for a while we went to Applebee’s for dinner.
The food and the service were quite good.
After dinner we went back to John and Cindy’s for more visiting.
Around 9:45 we said good by to Cindy and John took us back to the hotel. We were in bed by 10:00 watching the 10:00 news.
The guests in the next room were playing a boom-box with rap music at max volume. Fortunately they turned off about the time the news was over. At least we didn’t have to listen to that crap all night.
Saturday.
Around 9:00 this morning (Saturday) we had breakfast at one of the hotels restaurants and by 10:30 we were on I-80 heading west for home.
It was pretty clear sailing over the Sierras but once we got to Sacramento we started hitting backups. The first and worst was where Highway 50 and I-80 merge.
We hit several more back ups on I-80 and even Highway 12 all the way to Napa. We turned off 12 at Old Napa Road and finally got away from the traffic. Even with all the traffic we still made it home by 3:15
Okay, that was the highlights of our trip to Nevada. We had a good time.
