Cameron to Monticello 03-22-14

We left Cameron, AZ around 9:20. The plan was to spend the night in Bluff, Utah.

We traveled north on 89 to 160 where we turned north east and followed 160 to Mexican Water where we turned north at 191 toward Bluff.
The scenery is pretty nice from Cameron to Bluff.

and some slick rock areas that look like they would be fun to jeep on.

I decided that it was to early to stop for the night but we did stop at the Twin Rocks Cafe for lunch. I had a Navaho Taco and Patti had a Chicken Caesar Salad. lunch was good as usual.

After lunch we headed up the canyon on 191.

We passed through Blanding and drove by the Recapture Lake. This year the lake is very low.

On the way into Monticello we could see some snow on the Abajo Mountains to the west.

We are a day early so today (03-23-14) we are going to do a little exploring on our own.

The rest of the Quartzsite group will arrive this evening.
