Yesterday we celebrated Susanne and Roy’s 50th anniversary (which actually is March 8). It was decided that they needed to get remarried.
The re-wedding was organized by Sue and Denis and kept secret from Susanne and Roy.
All they knew was that we were going to have a weenie roast.
We gathered at the French Quarters; an old cabin in the desert east of town
and waited for S & R to arrive in their shrunk limo.
The bride was gorgeously attired in jeans and striped shirt, with a vale of table cloth by Dollar General and a garland of fake flowers.
She was very happy.
The groom was tastefully attired in jeans, printed blue shirt and top hat made by Shirley and Patti.
A couple of big horn sheep stopped by to bless the proceedings.
The wedding was officiated by the “wrong reverend” Dennis.
The bride was given away by Denis “the Frenchman”.
It was a touching ceremony despite the guffaws and giggles from the audience and participants.
“You may kiss the bride.”
As tradition dictates the bride and groom were riced after the ceremony.
There was a toast to the bride and groom.
Susanne threw the garter to the men but the wind caught it and it fell behind her. The guys rushed to claim it.
Roy tossed the bouquet to the ladies. Patti was taking this picture and the bouquet hit her, so by default it was decided that she had caught it.
After the ceremony we indulged in a sumptuous feast
along with an assortment of salads.
When everyone had finished with their lavish meal the wedding cake was brought out.
The cake was a white cake with cool whip icing decorated by Sue.
The escape limo was tastefully decorated by Shirley.
We left around dark but the real party was just getting started.
The whole thing was a lot of laughs as is usual with this group.
What a fun day and a great way to celebrate an anniversary. Looks like you kids are having a great time. :)
