We had a nice relaxing few days at the cabin.
We arrived around 10:30 Saturday morning. The weather was perfect, sunny and warm. We got the car unloaded and moved into the cabin. We spent the rest of the day puttering around and taking it easy.
We did stack a nice load of fire wood in the cabin and some on the porch as rain was in the forecast.
Saturday evening it began to rain and continued through the night and off and on all day Sunday and into Monday.
It stopped raining around 2:00 Monday afternoon.
We enjoyed the rain as it gave us an excuse to sit around and relax.
It wasn’t all just sitting around doing nothing though.
I buried the waterline that I had to fix last week.
We cleaned up and widened the trail to the old crapper.
We took a walk up the road with the loppers and cut some of the brush away from the road side.
While we were working on the road we came across a California state mollusk.
I split a few large chunks of firewood into pieces, small enough to just fit through the stove door.
I like to try and get as large a piece of wood into the stove as possible. That way the wood burns up a bit slower.
Monday was my birthday so we had a little party.
We had cake and soft drinks.
Patti is on weight watchers so had to pass on the cake. The cake was a bit to small for 72 candles so we just used one.
I made a wish and blew the candle out.
My wish came true!!
Tuesday around 3:00 we reluctantly left the cabin and headed back to SRO. We stopped in Windsor to visit with Dave and Joanne and ended up going to Loupes' for a fine Mexican dinner.
Happy Birthday Pop!!
