Heater repair, and New Coolent Temp Sensor for Snoopy.

Heater Repair.

Saturday, I went to RV Lifestyles and bought a new limit switch for the RV furnace.
As it turned out the limit switch was accessible from the front of the furnace inside the RV so I didn't have to remove the furnace to replace the switch.
I replaced the switch and now the furnace works again.

New Sensor.

Sunday, I replaced the coolant temperature sensor on Snoopy. Unfortunately when I tightened the sensor up I cracked the thermostat housing.
Patti and I went to Blythe where I got a new thermostat housing.
By the time we got home it was to late to start swapping out the housing. I checked it when we got home and there must be some stop leak in the coolant because it wasn't leaking.

We are going for a ride today so if it doesn't rain tomorrow I will replace the housing then.

Okay that's it for today.

  1. You sound to be very handy when it comes to fixing the intricacies of heating technology. Personally I wouldn't dare tamper with mine and always resort to a plumber to help fix even the minor things. I wish I had your skills and knowledge. I'm intrigued to know what 'Snoopy' is? Obviously it has a thermostat! Great imaginative name.

  2. You're a brace soul to work on a thermostat on an RV. Those things can be difficult to work on so I'm thinking you've got some engine repair experience. Do RV's have a lot of trouble with furnaces and such? I've never owned one. And by the way, is "Snoopy" the name you gave your RV? Pretty cool.

  3. I love my RV it's my pride and joy and I'd live in if I could. Do you not find that from time to time it can be expensive to maintain though? I'm no mechanic. But I do like to try and fix things myself if I possibly can. I just find that parts themselves for my RV are ludicrous.
