Yesterday we took a ride with Becky and Dennis to the Kofa Game Refuge.
For those of you who haven't read last years blog. The Kofa (King Of Arizona) Wild Life Refuge is located south of Quartzsite AZ. on the east side of Highway 95. It contains some of the most beautiful scenery in this part of the state.

We left the RV park around 9:30 and since the Rhino is not suitable for highway travel We dropped into Tyson wash and followed it south until we got to the old Yuma road. Then followed it to Paz Valley Rd. There we went east until we got to 95 where we crossed the highway and head4ed south on a power line service road for about 3 miles and finally got to the entrance to the Kofa at Cristal Hill Rd. We followed this road a few miles past the Natural gas powered generator,

turned south and headed into the mountains.
For a couple of hours we bounced along passing many interesting rock formations including arches.

One outcrop looked (with a little imagination) like a sleeping Stegosaurus.

The trail winds through a narrow canyon, the walls of which are vertical. I suspect that this is an ancient fault.

Eventually we Arrived at De La Osa Well (Well of the sow bear) where we stopped for lunch.

After lunch we started for home. I let Patti drive this leg and she did very well.

All day we looked for Big Horn Sheep but the only wild life we saw were several coveys of Mountain Quail.

We took a different trail home and saw more interesting rocks.
One mountain looked like it had several arches in progress.

Maybe in another couple of million years they will be complete.
We arrived home around 4:30.
Later on Patti got a nice picture of the sunset.
