A couple of days ago Roy stopped by and said that he was going to decant some Grand Marnier liquor that he had maid and invited us to come down on Saturday for a tasting.
Around 1:00 we walked down to their place.
They had a real nice spread laid out with sausages, cheese, crackers, veggies etc.

What I found very interesting, was how the liquor is made.
Roy took a couple of large mouth gallon jars which he half filled with High quality Brandy with some sugar dissolved in it. Above the brandy he suspended two mandarin oranges by strings, then he put the lids on the jars sealing them tightly and set them aside for eight weeks. Apparently the fumes from the brandy draws out the essence of the oranges and flavors the brandy.
I don't drink but I tried a little sip from Patties glass and it was surprisingly tasty.
