We left the Cactus Country RV park south of Tucson yesterday around 10:00 and arrived at the HO HO Kam RV park in Coolidge at 11:30.
Even though it was raining for the whole trip we made good time. This park isn’t very well organized. The office is closed on Saturday and Sunday. We were told that our spot would be 190 but there was already a big RV in #190 so we just picked a spot near
Jo Ann and Dave #189B who arrived on Friday. We went into #189.
After getting set up, we took a ride in the rain through Coolidge and drove all the way to Florence about nine miles away. The area is mostly agricultural.
On the way back to the RV we stopped at the Casa Palomino Mexican restaurant.
Patti ordered the Chicken Fajita’s and I had a Carne Asada Chimichanga. The Chimicanga was pretty good but Patti’s didn’t care for the Fajita. She had to ask the waitress a couple times for the Tortillas. When she finally got them they looked almost burnt and were stuck together. I think the girl just forgot them in the warmer. The chicken in the Fajita was big chunks, over cooked and very dry. She didn’t like the sauce.
In the evening I was checking my off road book and found that all the trails we are planning to take require a State Trust Land permit. To get the permit we will have to go to Phoenix to the State Trust Land office. I guess we will have to go there tomorrow (Monday).
I’m not looking forward to that.
The rain stopped during the night and this morning it is very foggy.
We will probably just hang out in the RV today.
