The Start.
We gathered at the Fire Station around 9:00 again.
Once we were all there, we headed north toward Parker, AZ.
Hot Air Balloon.
Along the way we noticed another Hot Air Balloon taking off. It looks like the same one we saw on Monday.
Counting Hawks.
Whenever Patti and I go to Parker we count the number of Hawks we see on the power lines. Patti keeps trying to get a picture of one. Most times the pictures don’t turn out.
This is one that did.
We counted 10 hawks this morning and 10 on the way home.
A couple Stops in Parker.
A couple of us stopped to fuel up at the Running Man station in Parker. Their gas is the cheapest in town.
We caught up with the rest of the group at the Chevron station and from there we crossed the Colorado River.
The river is pretty low at this time.
Once on the California side of the river we drove east on CA-62 to an OHV park where we stopped to air down and met up with Rick and Nancy.
Burro’s.
As soon as we got going we saw a couple of Burros close to the trail.
A little farther along and we saw some more Burros on the hillside.
The trail we were on went through a tight canyon.
A Dead End.
This trail was a dead end…
but it was in a really nice canyon with some nice erosion.
Most of the trails we took today were dead ends. There were a lot of ATV trails but they were too narrow for jeeps and were designated as ATV only.
Arches.
As we drove along these trails we saw a few nice arches.
More Wild Life.
As we traveled up another rocky canyon we spotted some Bighorn Sheep.
Here is the best picture Patti got of the sheep this trip.
More Canyons.
We drove around going up one canyon…
and down another.
We drove around like this for a while.
Lunch Break.
Eventually we drove into another col-de-sac.
We decided that this would be a good spot for lunch.
After Lunch.
After lunch we drove around some more…
We drove over another rocky pass.
On the other side of this pass we came to the creek that we followed a couple of weeks ago.
We drove through the creek a couple of times.
Doctors Appointments.
A couple of people in the group had 2:30 Doctors appointments and we had all been here before so we turned around and headed back toward the highway.
Of course we had to drive in the creek and over some more steep hills.
Eventually we got back to the highway and aired up the tires.
Shopping and Heading Home.
Patti and I did a little shopping in Parker and then went home.
It was a fun trip and a good day.
