Patti got a neat picture of the Sun shining on the clouds before we left on our ride Yesterday.

We took a ride back out Plomosa rd. to the hills northeast of us, between "Q" and Bouse.
We've been there before but this time went in on a different trail from the east side.
There are several trails through these hills so we ziged and zaged up and down boulder strewn canyons. One particular set of hills was pocked with holes and caves.

One of which was particularly interesting

and accessible so of course I had to look in side.

It looked like many animals had taken shelter in the large cavity under the rock. There were so many tracks on the floor of the cave that it was hard to determine who made them.
We passed another arch we named "Dolphin Arch".

After wandering around for a while we stopped for lunch on a ridge with a view to the east.

After lunch we headed west around the south side of the "Four Peaks".
and down onto the flats. We passed another Saguaro with a birds nest.

We also stopped to admire a "Brittle Bush" in bloom.

They are the first flowers of the season and they increase as the weather warms until May, when they paint the hills and road sides bright yellow.
When we got back to the highway we turned east because I wanted to try a road I saw going into a rocky canyon. Unfortunately that road was blocked so we continued east looking for a safe spot to turn around. We found a wide spot on top of a hill where an ATV trail went south so we turned on to it. The track was very narrow and dropped into a deep wash that was very rough. We wound around through the wash and in and out of steep gullies. Unfortunately I was so busy maneuvering that we didn't think to take pictures. we came out on a good dirt road and drove back to the highway where we turned toward Quartzsite. After a short distance we turned left onto "Sunkist Trail", a dirt road that comes out on the east side of "Q".
We got home around 4:30. At 6:00 we went to a camp fire gathering that some folks in the park were putting on.

OK, that's it for today.
